The Chief Minister of Mizoram, Zoramthanga, had previously announced that he would not share the stage with PM Modi due to alleged attacks on churches in neighbouring Manipur, which is governed by BJP. The BJP has fielded Lalrinliana Sailo from Mamit, who previously resigned as Speaker and joined BJP after being denied a ticket by the governing MNF party. Observers suggest that BJP may be cautious about the PM’s visit to Mamit without having visited Manipur first.

Techie denied refund after flight cancelled due to runway closure
An IT professional, Naveenraj Rajan, was denied a refund of Rs 89,000 for a cancelled flight from Bengaluru to Mumbai due to a plane crash and runway closure. Rajan had booked a ticket to Montreal and had a connecting flight with Swiss International Air Lines. Despite reaching the airport on time, he was unable to make it to Mumbai for his connecting flight. The airline, Vistara, offered a refund, but the ticketing portal, Goibibo, refused. Eventually, Rajan had to book another flight at his own expense. Goibibo has now initiated a refund after the issue was brought to their attention.
